While driving eastbound on Highway 92, near the Highway 35 intersection at the Crystal Springs Reservoir, a driver felt a sharp pain just below his left eye. When he looked out his driver's side window he saw someone pointing a gun at him. The man called police and gave a description of the suspect and his car. San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies found Nicholas Hoobyr, 18, with a pellet gun and he was subsequently identified by the victim. The victim was slightly injured and the suspect was booked into San Mateo County jail for assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim received a fraudulent California driver's license in the mail which contained his personal information. The unknown suspect used a photo of herself and the personal information of the victim to create a fraudulent license. There are no leads at this time.

The driver of a vehicle was arrested for driving under the influence and the passenger was arrested for being drunk in public.

A resident wanted police to take a report on a bad check and possible mail scam. The man said he received a letter and check that he thought was part of a lottery scam. He was advised to discontinue any contact with the check makers and given tips on prevention of such scams in the future. A copy of the report will be sent to the U.S. Secret Service.
Hit and run

A hit-and-run collision occurred overnight, damaging a parked car. The offender left the scene without leaving contact information.
Identity theft

A caller told police her sister had used her identity while getting a speeding ticket out of state. The sister had been driving her car at the time. Police called the out-of-state law enforcement agency to help get the situation straightened out.

Police stopped a car for driving around road closure barricades and found the car to be stolen out of San Francisco. The driver was arrested and taken to San Mateo County jail.

A maid called the Sheriff's Office after she found her employer laying on the floor next to his bed. There is no suspicion of foul play and the San Mateo County Coroner's Office is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of death.

Miguel Mendoza Salinas was stopped by deputies for having expired registration tabs on his car. After further investigation Salinas was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, and for an outstanding arrest warrant.

Deputies arrived at a residence to find a possible overdose. The victim's husband told deputies that his wife had ingested an unknown amount of prescription medications and told him that she wanted to go to sleep. The woman was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to San Mateo County General Hospital for further treatment.

The victim reported a bicycle was stolen at the entrance to the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve. The bicycle is valued at approximately $250.

A woman told deputies that she parked her car in the dirt parking lot at highways 92 and 35 that evening and had gone to San Francisco with her family. When she returned to the parking lot she found her right-side passenger window had been shattered and she was missing approximately 50 CDs, a hair dryer and makeup.
