Half Moon Bay Police were alerted about the theft of a welcome mat recently. A Patrick Way resident called police at 10:20 p.m., Oct. 2, to say that an estranged family member had taken the mat from his front porch. He told police the mat was worth $25. The resident said he didn't seek prosecution but wanted the incident documented.

1:50 a.m., Sept. 30, Avenue Alhambra
San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies stopped a driver for driving erratically. The 28-year-old Half Moon Bay woman admitted to having had a couple drinks and failed a sobriety test. She was taken to county jail.
Road rage
6:47 p.m., Oct. 2
Deputies responded to a residence after receiving a 911 hang up. When contacted, the caller told deputies that a woman driving a black SUV followed her home and screamed that she had broken several traffic laws.

12 p.m., Oct. 3, North Cabrillo Highway
Police were called to a trailer where neighbors heard screaming. The man in the trailer told officers that he and another man had a fight earlier in the day and the man may have been trying to tip the trailer over. No citations were given.
Oct. 4, Lewis Foster Drive
Police reported a possible battery at Half Moon Bay High School but say the report is not complete and that no further details were available at press time.
Driving without a license
3:12 p.m., Oct. 1, Kelly Avenue
A 25-year-old Half Moon Bay woman was cited for being unlicensed after she was stopped for a traffic violation.
11:23 p.m., Oct. 1, Highway 1
An officer on patrol stopped a car for speeding and found a 22-year-old Half Moon Bay man to be driving without a license. He was cited and released.
Forgery
2:35 p.m., Oct. 5, San Mateo Road
A 41-year-old San Francisco resident was arrested and taken to county jail on charges of forgery, burglary, possession of stolen property and four outstanding misdemeanor warrants from San Francisco last week. Employees at Wells Fargo Bank called police to report a woman trying to cash a fraudulent check.

11:55 p.m., Sept. 27, Cypress Point Road
A man reported that his adult son had not returned home as expected. The missing person was entered into a law enforcement database.
Theft
6:30 p.m., Sept. 28, Amesport Landing
Someone stole three ladders, valued at $460, from a carport.
6:30 a.m., Sept. 18, Kelly Avenue
A woman reported the theft of half a tank of gas from her parked vehicle.

Thirty-three-year-old James Mavromatis was arrested on an active vandalism warrant and transported to county jail.

A 27-year-old Montara resident was contacted and found to have a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest, stemming from a charge of possession of stolen property. He was taken to county jail.

12:56 a.m., Oct. 5, Retiro Street
Juan De Dios Nah Seca, 32, was arrested on felony charges of assault and vandalism after roommates say he became drunk and belligerent and threw three bricks through a window. One of the bricks hit a woman, causing a gash on her leg.
