Seraphim 'Bud' Quadros

Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 - 02:43:10 pm PDT

Lifelong coastside resident Seraphim “Bud” Francis Quadros, 76, of Half Moon Bay, died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Friday, May 16, 2008.

Seraphim was born December 22, 1931 to Annie and Serafim Quadros of San Gregorio, where he was raised.

He attended the old, one-room Bell schoolhouse in San Gregorio before going to high school for three years at Half Moon Bay. He then transferred to Pescadero High for his senior year.

In his youth he contributed to the family farm and later became a heavy equipment operator and a 50-year member of the Operating Engineers Local #3 Union. While working for BFI, it was his pleasure to compete in heavy-equipment rodeo competitions.

Bud loved the ocean and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed gardening and tending his roses. In his retirement, he spent time traveling in his RV to see America — from back roads and two-lane highways.

The joy of his life was spending time with his loving wife of 41 years Elizabeth, and his children; daughter Suzanne and husband Jim Thompson of Tennessee, son Albert Quadros and wife Connie of Virginia, daughter Lynda Koch of Tennessee, daughter Jackie Sullivan of Half Moon Bay, son Dan Edwards and wife Debbie of Tennessee, daughter Betsy and husband Benny Williams of Vermont and daughter Patricia (Patty) and husband Lenny Parrnelli of North Carolina. He was also blessed with 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren whom he adored spending time with.

Bud was a sweet and gentle man. He was quick with a story and a joke and very much loved. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Seraphim’s name to Sutter Hospice VNA at www.Suttervnahospice.org
